This program focuses primarily on Youth Health and Wellness with additional support for Diabetes Prevention in the community.  The Health/Wellness Program offers Stay Healthy Classes at the Winnebago Schools and Cooking Classes for Youth.  Additionally, the Program offers education on traditional, medicinal plants and other traditional practices to improve and maintain the health of community members.

The Health Promotion/Education Program covers a wide range of services for the Winnebago Public Health Department.  The Program works with all ages to educate and support good physical and mental health throughout the community.  Services include the following:

Whirling Thunder Wellness Program

Whirling Thunder through the Winnebago Public Health Department offers both youth and adults programs in disease prevention and health promotion.  The gym at Whirling Thunder provides a variety of activities to promote and maintain weight loss and a healthy, active lifestyle. Additionally, an aquatics program is offered to residents as an additional avenue to maintain good health and wellness for all ages.
